Ole Ole Ole Ole

Australia is thru to the World cup finals!!! What a bloody exciting game, one of the best games I've seen in recent times. Australia had its moments but more or less dominated the game. Harry Kewell was playing like his former self and they managed to survive numerous free kicks by Recoba (not by much tho'). I think I'm really overjoyed cos it probably means I dun need to subscribe to Foxtel to catch the world cup next year, with Australia in it, they'll probably telecast it on free to air TV... Yee-haw!

Today has been a really good day, I can't explain it, I've just been really happy, its like I'm high on weed, all day long. Especially after work, couldn't stop bouncing around, calling people up and sharing my joy. Day 3 of the no smoking campaign and its going better than I thought. I've had a couple of beers and still no urge, thank God!

Can't wait for friday when we go to the Haufbraus (something like that) place with the Germans, should be good.... oh, and meeting up with the "Tans" tomorrow, which should be good as well, its been a long time since we last met up, with my exams and stuff.

Surprisingly, I had a really open heart-to-heart talk with Tram today, I can't believe how open I was, sharing all my repressed childhood memories... hahaha..and I even had a chance to do the whole God talk/ debate with Louis and some people around the table, really must have been God given courage; today was just super surreal for me...

If I'd known it would have been this good, I would have quit long ago....

post exam days

So, first weekend after the end of exams, what did I get up to? Action packed weekend!!
Started off with friday night, we had our annual trivia night at work. We sucked big time, maybe cos nobody at our table was above 30 and that was a huge handicap, considering the questions were like from the friggin 60s!!

We, the "killer zombie try-hards" (we went the cheesy route), were initially ranked last but managed to bribe the judges and got an extra bonus 20 points for the last round *yay*

Was a night of stoopid laughs and pigging out on junk food. I'm glad we participated. After that, we went to this Salsa club/pub which was great. No salsa-ing, but htey had this live band that played retro music, the lead was soooo good, she really rocked hard... it was like mambo, but with a live band. Only me, Bec and Jules were dancing in front of the band, while the rest kinda sat in the corner and talked about God knows what... then when Bec left, me and Jules and kept going and going and going, until this weird guy kept coming up and molesting my left (newly formed) man-boobs! It was getting way too uneasy, and hte night kinda ended shortly after.

Woke up relatively early on Saturday to do some cleaning up, Mark came back from Singapore and realised that he is allergic to wheat and gluten ... what a sad life, allergic to food. I went to Kew Recreation centre to join Leigh for my first gym workout in like over 6 months. I'm still feeling the pain now... no amount of painkillers seem to do the trick, I soooo do not know the meaning of conditioning.

That night we all met up again to celebrate Nicole's birthday, at this place called Kun Ming, its one of those chinese restaurants in Lt Bourke catered for the caucasian crowd. Once again, we had heaps of fun and Indri came along as well,, so there was plenty of laughs. After which, we headed off to Max Brenner's @ Melbourne central for our dose of sweets. By that time, I was completely bloated and feeling really tired. But a couple of us managed to muster up enough energy to go down to The Lounge and started drinking heaps of shots (tequilla of course!) and countless beers. It's funny, cos when we stepped in there about 11ish,t he place was empty, but somehow, the five of us started dancing our arses off and suddenly the place was packed to the brim! Nicole was bloody unlucky though, towards the end of the night, this groping couple beside us knocked over the small table with the drinks and it spilt all over Nicole! It cheesed me off cos I was beside her and i got wet too, but it was funny at the same time cos if I got wet, Nicole must have been drenched *chuckle*.

Sunday was rest day, went over to G's to watch a few DVDs and try her cookies (virgin attempt)... they were quite nice, probably a tad too much sugar (if my memory serves me correctly, the recipe said 1.1 Kg of castor sugar)... but overall, I must say it was a fine effort for the first attempt.

Monday was the first day of my smoke free life... YAY! Jules got the nicotine patches for me and it seems to be working well so far. I was feeling pretty sick on Monday, I don't know whether it was the side effects of the patches or just the withdrawal symptoms, but today was much better and I've gone two whole days smoke free; without even the urge to pick one up! I've even left an open pack right on my table to tempt me, and I haven't give in to temptation, I'm never going back!! Praise the Lord!

Enough ranting for now.... time to read my book and get to bed, I'm reading this book called the Kite Runner, highly recommended by G so I'm gonna get stuck into it and possibly post some reviews.. if its worth recommending.
