An obnoxious, self-centered view on what-a-bitch life can be.....

Spring is here.

Its the last day of August, which only means one thing... no more snow. *Arggghh* Time to repair and put storage wax on the board, store it away under the couch and forget about it for the next 5 months.

Last weekend was a great end to the season, I've only been to Hotham once, and that was when I was still learning how to stand on the board. Now, being slightly better and alot braver, I thoroughly enjoyed all the runs. Theres something for everyone, nice gradual groomed runs for beginners, lots of twisties and little jumps to keep the better riders entertained. The terrain park is pretty average (not that I'm a park kinda person) and theres this run with some seriously kick-arse moguls.

I feel like my riding is getting better, more consistent performance. I'm really starting to like my board, getting use to the edges which translates to smoother carving and confidence to stomp the board.

The downside of this whole trip was my board got an absolute "spanking"... there are several depp cuts along the base, heaps of scratches on the deck and i got a chip of the top varnish layer. Scratches and chips didnt really concern me too much, it was the base that got me worried. Upon closer observation, looks like its just the P-tex layer, no core shots... so should be easily repaired with P-tex candles.

According to Mt Buller website, theres still some snow.... 9 lifts open; maybe I can squeeze in another weekend or two before close of season. *fingers crossed*
