An obnoxious, self-centered view on what-a-bitch life can be.....

Drained.

So, I'm half way there, 2 subjects down and 2 more to go. The auditing exam took more out of me than I thought, feeling rather drained... both mentally and physically. It went okay I guess, can't really tell (and I don't want to comment and later get abused by my "concerned" neighbour).

After yesterday's exam, I met up with the newly weds; Mr & Mrs Chak. Had a great time talking, laughing, eating (of course) and even more eating afterwards. I was surprised by the amount of food Ed ate, or rather the lack of. I mean, this is the guy of urban legends; 8 bowls of rice at Rock Hung is no easy feat. Maybe marriage does that to ya, tones you down and makes you less extreme in every sense. Was good to see the pot belly still poking out, somethings need time to subside I guess.

Also, went to pump petrol at Shell yesterday, and I got totally thrown off by the new pumps. Seeing that going to the gas station is a rarity for me (the car sits in the garage on most days), I wasn't sure what the new pump-head colours meant! It use to be so simple, red was the unleaded and blue was Optimax. Now, not only have they changed the colours but the names and the RON ratings as well... I settled for the one with "racing" in the name (100 RON), bloody oil companies, must be cos they're too cashed up and decided to bring in a whole bunch of management consultants who decided that this would be the best way to confuse the hell out of the Australian public. *bleah*

Working hard on accounting theory at the moment, I have less than 7 days to cover 6 months worth of mambo jambo. Pray hard for me!

Listening to music from Athlete, Dredg and Snow Patrol on my "Study for Accounting Theory" playlist *grin*. 'Wires'(Athlete) , 'Catch without arms' (Dredg) and 'You're all I have"(SnowPatrol) have provided the greatest inspiration so far... go listen people.

*yawn*

one more (excruciating) day to go.

Okay, so I've only got like one more day to finish up my preparations for the audit exam, and I'm pretty unprepared. It didn't help that day light savings started today, which meant that in effect, I lost one hour of sleep and precious study time!

Of late, there has been this bird that sits outside my window, chirping happily away at 3:30am, every morning, when the rest of 'em start about 5:30am. Now, I've thought of everything, even considered buying this high frequency device from the internet to get rid of this nuisance. I figured that this bird must be lost, possibly from Singapore, with the whole 2 hour time difference? What really puzzles me is, as I type this post, my clock shows 3:47am, and the bird has started to chirp! Unless he's wearing a watch (that syncs with daylight savings time), I can't understand why his biological clock has prompted him to start chirping! Shouldn't it be 2:30am for him?

*I've made an assumption that the bird is a "he". Not trying to be sexist, just one less letter to type.

Anyway, I digress.....

Theres this new kid on the block (get it, NKOTB?.. *bleah*), James Morrison, who I've been listening to; his first single ("You give me something") has been getting a fairbit of airplay on the radio. I'm quite impressed with the other songs in his album "Undiscovered", I actually listened from start to finish without skipping. He's got a raw sound to his voice, very old skool R&B-Marvin Gaye-ish sound to it ('cept he's a whiteboy, a very english one at that). Nice. And he gets abit ecentric with his acoustic guitar, abit like Gavin Degraw, 'cept with Gavin its the keyboards. Listen to the track entiltled "Wonderful World"... nice melody, phrasing and guitars. And if you really got nothing better to do (or like me, distracted), go d/l his podcast, has some footage of him in Tokyo.... which is where I'll be in 3 months time. YaY!!!

PS: For all the friends and followers of "NOISY MABEZ", this is Shout Out for you guys/ gals to vist her new blog "Mabez World (in China)". I think the name says it all.
